We were asked to look at the Scherer table and make sense of it. As I have spent some time reading through the table and thinking about it, I can really see the value in it. In a very succinct
way it provides an overview of the influences that could effect the use of assistive technology. I can see how this would be helpful when collaborating as a team to try to appropriately match a user with the best AT.
The other use I see for this table is when a team is having a problem with the AT match. I can see that if the match between AT and the user was not working out the team could go back to this table and use it to figure out what might have been overlooked or missed.
I think that this table is an excellent resource and one that I will hang on to in case I am in the situation to make use of it.
